Born in Liverpool in 1958, David's family moved to Moreton in 1963 where he remained for the whole of his school life. He went to college in Luton and subsequently worked at (the former) Inland Revenue in Liverpool, Birkenhead, and Wembley for 7 years before moving to Lerman Quaile Chartered Accountants in Birkenhead in April 1987. He remains their Tax Manager some 26 years later.
Although he has always written poetry, it was not until 2009 when he decided to enter, rather speculatively, the Sefton Poetry Competition. Up until this point his poetry had never been performed or published. He was adjudged runner-up and has become much more involved in poetry from that point on.
David has achieved varying degrees of success in competitions since then (detailed elsewhere in this site).
